The Two-Day Rule

One thing we've discovered on this trip is that we don't really love boondocking.

It adds a different set of challenges on top of the normal stuff: conserve water, conserve battery, know when to run the generator.

Some of the places we've boondocked have generator restrictions and rules for hours of use, so there's that.

Others, it's a free-for-all, and the guy with the external model from 1994 is making more noise than a pack of Harleys.

The new rule:

We're good for about two days with no hookups.

After that, we're just ready to get our regular amenities back.

And so this particular part of the trip had to be rearranged after we set out.

We moved some reservations around and built in a day at a traditional campground to break up the boondocking situations.

We parked for one night at Victorian Acres RV Park in Nebraska City, NE.

Big spaces. Pleasant people. Well-positioned hookups.

All around, no complaints.

And also no pictures other than that first one.

In case you're curious, fire pits were available upon request, but honestly, by the time evening arrived, we were too tired to think about it.

Sleep and general downtime have become even more essential than usual, and so the choice was clear.

But.

I'll chase that fire if it takes me 'til the very last day.

I will have it.

Oh yea.

By the way, right about the time you say you haven't seen a stink bug, guess what happens?
