Six Yahtzees

I'm not superstitious.

At all.

Logical to the end, that's me.

But it tracks that we're staying in a town named Peculiar.

Yes, this is about the Yahtzee game.

Jason would like me to talk about mathematical improbability.

OK, why bury the lede?

He won.

But.

In our first round, between the two of us, we rolled five Yahtzees.

Three to him.

Two to me.

The dice were just... peculiar.

And then, in the second round, another Yahtzee.

Mine.

Six Yahtzees.

This place is magical.

We had one final weekend on the road, and we found The Peculiar Winery just outside of Kansas City, MO.

It will be in my top three Harvest Hosts of the trip.

Thirteen acres of grassy, mostly level areas to park. A little pond. Some old, knotty trees. A good variety of dry whites and sweet fruit wines.

Skip the reds.

Tonight there's a food truck and a band.

And if it weren't for it being 97 degrees here, I think we'd be very comfortable.

As it is, the generator is getting a workout running both AC units.

And it's sucking the gas, for sure.

But between here and home, we shouldn't need it much more.

Phrase of the Day: Splash Shower

This is the shower you get when your fresh water tank reads one-third.

In fairness, it always reads one-third.

So, draw your own conclusions there.

But a Splash Shower is about the equivalent of sitting by a pool and being splashed by someone in the pool.

Slightly refreshing.

Short-lived.

Better than nothing when you're hot.

Tomorrow, we get on 70 East, and I can see home from a distance.
