Never Say Never

a bowl of guacamole, two red dishes of salsa on each side, bowl of chips and margarita

Yep, this is another picture of food and nothing else.

Guys, we’re in Indiana.

You know what it looks like.

On that note, the roads are exactly as I remember them from the last time I was in Indiana.

They’re bad.

We had an almost five hour drive today from St Louis to Indianapolis (construction) and parked at… yes, I admit, another KOA.

And I’ll say this. Indianapolis KOA Holiday has some very nice sites.

Our site is actually long enough that we can park the camper and the truck and have the deck down without blocking the road or being on the grass.

When I say they have very nice sites here, I’m talking sites with hammocks and outdoor fireplaces.

We did not get one of those sites.

Also, I feel like I’m talking a lot about sewer connections, but in my defense, this is a real thing when you’re camping, and when places get it right, everything just flows, if you know what I mean.

And when they get it wrong...

Don't breathe.

So when we have trouble connecting, like we did today, with some kind of weird threading in the, eh, receptacle end, I have to mention in.

However.

That’s the last of the sewer stuff.

For this series, anyway.

Maybe we’ll do this again.

Never say never.

I had the oddest thought yesterday.

Is this what it feels like to be a musician on tour?

Living in a bus situation, going from city to city, moving all the time?

It’s no wonder people lose their center.

I feel it slipping sometimes.

But.

My bestie asked me the other day if Jason and I were ready to murder each other, after living on the road, in a confined space, dealing with ALL THE STUFF that goes along with this journey.

And that's a fair question.

But, no.

We're a team.

And we're doing what a team does.

We finish.
