Brownish

This morning we hopped on 90 East again and continued across South Dakota.

The parts of South Dakota we drove through today could best be described as… brownish.

Fuzzy-looking brownish hills and the occasional weird rock formation.

Off in the far, far distance, we could see the edge of Badlands National Park. Impossible to photograph from the truck.

Just use your imagination.

Eventually, any sign of mountains disappeared and was replaced by fields full of corn and sunflowers and flat, wide-open spaces.

It was an altogether uneventful, one might even say boring, drive.

I actually did say that once.

We made a stop for the evening in Kimball, SD. Not so much a destination as a stopover with something different to see: the South Dakota Tractor Museum.

The museum is a Harvest Host, and it's FREE to tour.

Weird, right?

They accept donations, or you can purchase something from their gift shop.

We walked through seven buildings of old, restored (and sometimes not restored) tractors and farm equipment, of which I don't have much to say.

But someone might appreciate these.

And it was something to do on a Tuesday after a long drive.

We're back at it again tomorrow, bound for Iowa.
