Another Harvest Host Win

One of the best decisions we made ahead of this trip was to join the Harvest Host program.

But not for the reason we initially joined.

It was not necessarily cheaper to stay at "free" boondocking locations. We still spent money at each business we stayed at, and that's actually a requirement of the Harvest Host program. And we still spent money on extra supplies, showers and dumping tanks when we boondocked for multiple days.

But.

The real benefit of Harvest Hosts for us came from two things.

Because there are thousands of them, we had options to stop all along our driving path, even when there were no nearby campgrounds. And that's what made it possible to micro-hop our way across the country.

Secondly—and especially toward the end our trip—we were just... tired. We arrived to wherever we were going tired, and often stressed by a variety of factors. And the Harvest Host businesses that offered food and a place to relax without having to drive anywhere were an absolute blessing.

Included in that list was our last Harvest Host of the trip, Brewdog Dog Tap in Columbus.

It's a huge place with a multiple taprooms, a beer museum, a hotel and a very elaborate dog park. We had lunch and dinner there.

Yey, no cooking and dishes for the day!

Then we spent a peaceful evening watching crime documentaries and fell asleep knowing we were only two days from home.
